The Swing thermal transfer technology is an ideal solution for directly printing variable data onto plastic film or paper. The Swing thermally transfers the message onto the plastic film using environment friendly ink ribbons that are immediately dry directly after the prints are made. The printers are a great fit for Food and Medical applications! The Swing is most commonly used to print production lot informaton and expiration date codes onto plastic film packaging materials during packaging production processes. The Swing includes an electronic unit with touchscreen color graphic display for easy changing of messages at the production line. To accommodate most any high production environments, the Swing printer is available in various models, with maximum print areas from 53mm x 90mm (2" x 3.5") up to 128mm x 400mm (5" x 15.7") or 107mm x 600mm (4.2" x 23.6").

Simple to use
- Swing can be integrated in most packaging machines. The Swing support brackets are ready for the most popular packaging machines in the food packaging industry, and the Swing is available is a variety of models to enable the most efficient operation of the packaging machine: intermittent, continuous or multi-track.
- The larger marking area Swing models enable multiple pass printing with a single marking cycle. With the largest marking area length of 600mm (23.6") for the Swing, this means a web film can be printed several times across the web in a single pass, without the need for having special automation controls and brackets that a smaller size printer requires for these larger web applications.
- The Swing is offered in continuous mode models, where the film is always moving, or also available in intermittent models, where the film is stopped momentarily (like form/fill/seal machines) and the print is made while the film is stopped.
- The Swing printers work in harsh environments, such as cold and wet/humid, which is common in food packaging processes. Special enclosures with heaters are available as commonly supplied options for these types of environments. The marking is immediately dry after printing, and the plastic film does not require a pre-surface treatment for the marking to be performed.
Saving time and money
- All of the Swing printers offer the ribbon-saving mode, to maximize production efficiency and cost savings. The thermal transfer printer allows to change text without needing to change of plates on the production or packaging line. Message changes are performed in seconds, and for start up and shut down, simply switch on the power at the beginning of the production, and turn off the power at the end of the production.
- Many colors of ribbons are available and in widths to fit the desired message application.
- The Swing printers have built in diagnostics, and even displays on the screen the status of all of the print head 'dots'!
- The Swing printers can be used with up to 1000m length ribbons.
- All Swing printers have ribbon saving function to maximize ribbon usage.
Printing speed and definition
- Swing can print up to 1000 mm/s (SWING 2.ce in Gear mode) or up to 350 prints/minutes (SWING2.ce) for high-definition applications (to 12 points/mm - 300 dpi), such as barcodes, 2D codes, logos and various character fonts.
Simple to use
- Swing is great for printing variable data for small batches (dates, progressive or regressive numerical sequences, texts, lists of ingredients, barcodes, 2D codes, logos) and by using the electronic unit with touchscreen display at any time. Data and text can be retrieved from a USB flash drive, or from a connected computer or from the device memory and edited.
- The Swing printers have full color touchscreen displays for easy message selection and monitoring.
- Swing may be used for special applications such as marking onto medical paper.
- Ribbon threading is simple and changing ribbons may be performed in a matter of seconds.
